Check availability
Highland Broadband’s full-fibre network is our own, independent network. That means it’s completely separate from Virgin’s, so you don’t have to worry about scheduling your switch for the same day. It’s even possible to run both broadband services at the same time so you get no downtime at all.
How to switch to Highland Broadband from Virgin
Order full-fibre from Highland Broadband
Use our availability checker to find out if we’re currently in your area.
If we are, you can choose between Essential 150, Family 500, Gigabit or Ultimate so there’s a package for every size and type of household, and we offer 12 and 24-month contracts.
Choose to boost your broadband with our Whole Home WiFi Guarantee and Calls packages – and you can even keep your phone number, just make sure to let us know! (If you decide to keep your current phone number, you’ll need to keep your Virgin service running until the number transfer is complete – this is so you don’t lose your number before we can take it over for you.)
And don’t forget, your contract with Highland Broadband doesn’t start until your installation date, so you should keep your existing broadband service until then to make sure you don’t lose service.
Still in contract with Virgin? Not a problem!
You can switch to Highland Broadband today and if you’re still in contract, we can offer Switching Credit* to help cover any leaving fees. (*Full terms apply, see here for details)
Get in touch with Virgin Media
Log in to your Virgin Media account to view your current contract details (you can find these under “View Contract”).
Alternatively, you can call Virgin on 150 from a Virgin Media landline or mobile, or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone between 7am and 11pm Mon-Fri, and 8am and 8pm on weekends.
Cancel your service with Virgin
If you miss the 30-day window, or your prices aren’t increasing, then you may be subject to an early termination charge – this is why we offer Switching Credit.
It’s worth noting that in some cases, where you’ve received consistently low speeds or poor quality broadband, you may be able to cancel without early termination fees – you should discuss this with Virgin if this is the case for you.
Booking your Highland Broadband installation
If your home is in an area where we’re ready to install, then one of our team will be in touch to arrange a date for your installation.
If you’re in an area where we’re still building our network, our team will get in touch once we’re getting closer to connecting homes, and arrange an installation date at this stage.
So that’s it in a nutshell, but you can find out more about what’s involved in our installation process here.
