Looking to break up with your broadband provider this Valentines Day Core

Check availability and register interest

Whether you’re celebrating Valentine’s, Galentine’s or Palentine’s this February 14th, maybe it’s time to look at your key relationships and see who needs to stay and who needs to go.

There’s no relationship able to cause more grief within the family than one with a lacklustre broadband provider. So if your household harmony is being ruined by an unreliable broadband partner, here are our recommendations on how to pack up and move on:

1. Review your contract

Take a look at your contract to see if you are locked-in or likely to incur fees for leaving your current broadband provider. The classic ‘it’s not me it’s you’ won’t help you get out of any contractual obligations, but if you choose to join us here at Lothian & Highland Broadband there are a number of ways we can help. Contact our customer service team to learn more.

2. Check out alternatives

There’s an old Scottish custom whereby the first man or woman encountered on February 14th becomes his or her Valentine, and the day is then celebrated with them. We recommend being a little more selective though – it’s time to play the field and research  plans, prices and customer reviews to be sure you’re getting the best possible service at the best value tariff available.

Remember that reliability is key when it comes to choosing a new partner – especially with broadband providers. We provide full-fibre to the premises (FTTP) which is faster and more reliable than the more standard offer of fibre to the cabinet (FTTC).  Essentially FTTC is like sharing a pizza with the whole street, whereas our broadband (FTTP) is only sharing a pizza within your home. More tasty pizza and all about you!

3. Inform your current provider

Once you’ve decided to leave and found the best possible alternative, you can usually inform your current provider by phone, email or via their website.  At this point you can agree when you want your service to be cancelled.

4. Schedule your disconnection and new connection

When you’re clear on your current contract end-date you can sign up with your new chosen provider and schedule your disconnection.

Nobody likes overlapping relationships and we can apply an early termination credit to your account as a thank you for joining the Lothian & Highland Broadband family. The package you choose will determine the value of the credits. So you’re not only switching to a faster, more reliable broadband connection but you could be getting free months just for switching!

Also, if you have a VOIP connection (that is your landline runs through your broadband connection giving you unlimited calls to UK mobiles and landlines) transferring your number across is super easy.  We submit the request to your old provider even before you go live with us, so any remaining awkward break-up conversations are taken out of your hands.

5. Return any equipment

If your current provider supplied you with any equipment (such as a modem or router), you may need to return it. Be sure to check so you don’t incur any additional costs.

6. Check your final bill

Don’t forget to check your final bill to ensure there are no unexpected charges and that any deposits have been returned/accounted for.

7. Enjoy your new broadband service!

By following these simple steps, you can break up with your current broadband supplier and join us over at Lothian & Highland Broadband with minimal hassle. So, if you’re looking for an ultrafast, ultra reliable broadband connection using the very latest technology, check availability and register today and we’ll make it happen as quickly and easily as possible.
