Caithness based charity, KLICS (Kids Living in Care Situations) is now one of the best-connected charities in the north of Scotland, thanks to our ultra-fast full-fibre broadband.
The KLICS team, along with the young carers they support, are already enjoying the benefits of our full-fibre service. The charity are able to run their weekly life-skills, music and game sessions without the bother of buffering, and staff are now able to remain office based for key meetings and no longer face concerns about unstable internet disrupting vital work. At the same time, the young carers, aged between 5 and 18, are able to complete homework, benefit from online learning, and enjoy some much needed downtime on their devices whilst on-site.
KLICS Project Co-Ordinator Jan Redgrave is thrilled about the improvements since the broadband was installed:
We have the area that the children use with their toys and everything that they need. Now we have a separate office space because the internet is stronger. Before, we could only use the same space as them because the broadband wouldn’t reach beyond that, and very often we had to pack up to let them into the space. Now we can work beyond 2:30 to get things done without imposing on them.
Speaking of the benefits for the children KLICS serves, Jan added:
They can do their homework here. Not all families have broadband at home, so it means a lot that they can do that here. It’s little things like that.
